A newly developed PTFE/Glass foam finishing porous media is useful for hot combustion gas cleaning, up to 250°C. The emulsion type of PTFE was coated on the woven glass fiber by a foam finishing technology. The filter surface was closely examined using an XPS (X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy) and Contact angle measurement. The XPS could present the binding force between carbon and fluorine of PTFE, which enables to coating stability of filter media. The surface of PTFE/Glass foam finishing porous media is almost composed with C1s and F1s over 98%. Through an analysis of surface free energy of filter surface using contact angle, surface fluorinated filter with PTFE using foam finishing method has a very stable surface of filter. In addition, due to very low surface free energy, it is considered that efficiency of de-dusting which is process to separate a dust cake from filter surface will be very high during filtration process.
